Description
A group exhibition centred on the multi-layered potential of materials and process. It features 17 creatives and makers who each utilise time- honoured craft skills and artistic traditions in contemporary creative practice.
Drawing on the idea of performativity, materials are positioned as centrally important in signifying artistic intention, socio-cultural values, aesthetics, and experiential meaning in narrative and conceptual form. Coupled with the artists’ intent, the resultant works reflect the essence of the creative process – from an idea to its refinement and the realisation of innovative, meaningful, engaging, and finely crafted objects.
